Charlene Jenkins is an early childhood education professional with over 20 years of experience supporting programs, mentoring educators, and improving learning environments for young children. As the founder of Jenkins Early Childhood Consulting, she works with early learning programs across Louisiana to strengthen curriculum, program quality, and educator development. Her background includes leadership roles with the YWCA of Greater Baton Rouge, LSU Early Childhood Education Laboratory Preschool, and as a center owner and director, giving her deep, hands-on expertise in high-quality program management. Trained in Infant and Toddler CLASS, Conscious Discipline, and the Reggio Emilia approach, Charlene brings research-based, culturally responsive practices to her work, with a focus on inclusive, developmentally appropriate environments. She holds a Master of Science in Family and Consumer Sciences from Louisiana State University and remains an active leader in the early childhood community, with a commitment to helping both educators and children thrive.
